Joe
Kraus studied engineering and recording with
Jim Gallagher as a student at Temple University. After
graduating from Temple in 1989, Joe began engineering at Sigma
Sound, working on their famed Neve console; Kraus quickly
developed advanced recording and production skills and began
working key sessions with Sigma's big clients.
During his three year tenure at Sigma Joe engineered multitrack
sessions for a variety of artists, including work for commercial
clients. Joe's credits include sessions with Teddy Pendergrass,
Patti LaBelle, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, and Grover
Washington Jr.
Kraus left Sigma to pursue freelance work, and in short order
found himself busy running sessions in a number of Delaware
Valley based studios.
In 1991 Joe began teaching recording classes at The Art Institute
Of Philadelphia, while continuing to record and produce local
acts in his off hours.
In 1995 he was hired by Masterwork and has led numerous sessions
since that time. Joe's particular proficiency in ProTools®
and Performer® MIDI
sequencing software have added an extra dimension to
Masterwork's palette of services.
